Brnelic leaves Tina Turner to dance for herself
Ivona Brnelic, a dancer and a choreographer from Rijeka who has danced for eight years with Tina Turner, has decided to leave her team.
As Miss Yugoslavia in the late 1980s, Ivona decided to move to London where she studied at Laine Theatre Arts College and started a career as a dancer and later as a choreographer.
She has worked with many celebrities, such as Destiny's Child, Cher, Usher, Seal, Gwen Stefani, the Spice Girls and Ricky Martin.
She danced for Tina Turner for the last time at a Grammy Award ceremony after which she decided to return to Croatia and found her dance studio 'RiStudiocentar' on 18 October in Rijeka.
Brnelic said: "I cannot spend my whole life dancing for somebody else, and it is time to dance for myself. Trust me that it is hard to say no to Tina. To work with her is special and incredibly fulfilling."
The opening of Brnelic's studio will be celebrated with a party at which the special attraction will be the London dance group Zoonation.
